In this blog I am trying to introduce with new file system ReFS in windows 8.ReFS stands for Resilient File System, it is a next-generation file system developed by Microsoft Corporation. This file system is used for Windows 8 Servers and Windows 8. This file system was developed from zero level but in this file system provides fragmental compatibility with NTFS. It has inherited the some usable features from NTFS (New Technology File System). If you are keen to use more protected ReFS file format on Windows 8 then you need to activate ReFS File format on your system. It supports Windows 8 64-bit build 9200 (RTM), 8400 (RP) and 8250 (CP).
ReFS were designed as a file system which would be used on a large storage. A side effect of this is that you can’t use ReFS on a removable storage (Pen drive etc.). Another sequel is that ReFS widely uses B-tree data structures, which are known to be giant, to get better performance. Moreover, ReFS is providing superior protection against data loss due to various reasons and to ensure greater hindrance to omnifarious failures.
